Summer 2022 Newsletter
After a very wet spring with over 400mm of rain in both October and November we’ve had a run of lovely weather as summer finally takes hold. Despite there still being plenty of snow up on the higher peaks, the walking and mountain bike trails in the region are largely open and ready to enjoy.
Bookings are very strong over Christmas and New Year with the back half of January relatively quiet at this stage, so please put any peak period booking requests in via the website form at https://www.tfsl.com.au/rooms
TFSL Members can use the private online booking form before Dec 14 and after Jan 30: https://www.tfsl.com.au/members-info. Winter priority booking requests for TFSL Members will be run again in February 2023.

Manager’s Residence
We’ve made excellent progress on the earthworks for the new Manager’s residence, thanks in large part to the efforts of TFSL Member, Steven Pearce, and his earthmoving equipment.
The following tasks are now complete and ready for when the pre-fabricated buildings are expected to arrive in March:
Pad for building has been completed.
Services for building have been laid and trenches in the process of being backfilled.
Pad for new water tanks has been completed.
Rear car park has been resurfaced.
Bushfire protection zone has been cleared with trees stacked to dry for future fire wood for the lodge.
Building of the house is under way at Prefabulous construction yard. Frame is up and windows are in and the house has been wrapped as of last update.
We don't expect there to be any disruptions for guests as a result of the building works over summer, but please remind your children not to play in any of the new building works areas.
Swimming Pool Repairs
We had an unfortunate incident with a kangaroo jumping the fence and getting stuck in the pool and ripping the liner extensively when it tried to get out. We’re aiming for it to be replaced by early January at this stage, but don’t forget that TFSL Members have full access to the pool and gym at Lake Crackenback in the meantime.
Save the date: AGM - February 11 2023
As noted previously, we’ll be back in Canberra for next year’s AGM on Saturday February 11 2023 at the RUC for our 40th anniversary! We’ll be running the meeting at midday (12pm) followed by lunch at 1:30pm. Registration info will be sent to TFSL Members separately in January.
